Adventures in Geology Shockwave Installation Instructions

If you have not played Arkansas' Adventures in Geology on this computer yet, you will need to download and install the full version of the free Adobe Shockwave Player.

Please note: If Adobe Shockwave Player is already installed on your computer, it may not be the FULL version needed to play Arkansas' Adventures in Geology. You will need to uninstall the Adobe Shockwave player on your computer and then install the full version. If you have already played Adventures in Geology on this computer, return to this page to play the game. If you do not have Shockwave on your computer, download it now at the bottom of this page.

PC users:

  1. Go to http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
  2. Locate the uninstaller appropriate for your computer's operating system and download it (The Shockwave uninstallers are below the Flash installers, towards the middle of the page)
  3. Click "Download Now".
  4. It will give you the choice to run or save — choose "save" and save it to your desktop.
  5. When the download is complete, you will have the option to run the uninstaller. Choose to run the uninstaller.
  6. Follow the instructions given. You will need to close all of your open applications so you will have to come back to this page once the installation is complete.
  7. After the installation is complete, come back to this page and download the full version of Shockwave for PCs.
  8. It will give you the chocie to run or save — choose "save" and save it to your desktop.
  9. When the download is complete, you will have the option to run the installer — choose to run the installer.
  10. When the installation is complete, you may be redirected to the adobe page and asked if you want to install. Choose "Don't Install"
  11. You can now throw away the shockwave items on your desktop, and play the game!

Mac Users (you will just need to download the full installer, it includes an uninstaller):

  1. Click here to download the installer
  2. After the download is complete, open the installer and click on the installer icon
  3. Switch from install to uninstall, then click OK (you will have to close all other applications to continue the uninstall - you may want to print these instructions out first or bookmark the page so you can return to it when uninstall is complete)
  4. After uninstall is complete, switch to install and click OK (this will close any open browsers as well).
  5. Once the install is complete, you can throw away the shockwave items on your desktop, and play the game!
